Backing up & Restoring your Database

NOTE - This section does not apply to SQL Server databases.  For SQL Database backup/restore procedures, contact your SQL Server Administrator.

It is recommended to store your database on a network drive that is backed up on a regular basis.  If you need to manually backup the database use the method described below.

Backing up the Database

  1. Backing up the database requires exclusive access to the database.  Make sure all other users have exited Mouse Tracks
  2. From the Tools menu choose Backup Database
  3. Select the location and the name of the backup file
  4. Click Save
  5. A message box will appear with the results of the operation.


Restoring an Access Database

  1.  Restoring the database requires exclusive access to the current database.  Make sure all other users have exited Mouse Tracks.
  2.  From the Tools menu choose Restore Database
  3.  Browse to select the Access Database File (.mdb) file that you wish to restore
  4.  You will be prompted to confirm this decision
  5.  A message box will appear with the results of the operation
