Mouse Tracks Database Connection Wizard |
Welcome to Mouse Tracks Client 2007
You can either 'Connect to an Existing Database', or 'Create a New Database'. If this is the first time that you have run Mouse Tracks, most likely you would want to 'Create a New Database'. Even if you have purchased the Enterprise License of Mouse Tracks to run on SQL Server, you will need to create an Access Database before you can Upsize it to SQL Server.
Once you have a database created for your company or once you have
Upsized your Access database to SQL Server all subsequent installations of Mouse Tracks should choose to 'Connect to an Existing Database'. If you own a previous version of Mouse Tracks you would also want to choose 'Connect to an Existing Database'.Creating a Database
You can either create a new blank database, or create a database with sample data. If you're evaluating Mouse Tracks, most likely you would want to create a sample database. Note:'guest' is the only valid logon ID to the sample database. There is not a password for this account.
Connecting to a Database
You can choose to connect to a Microsoft Access Database (Standard Edition) or a SQL Server Database (Enterprise Edition). If you choose to connect to a Microsoft Access Database, an Open File Dialog Box will appear. You will then need to browse to the location of your MTrackBE.mdb file. As previously stated, you must Upsize your Access Database to SQL Server before you can connect to the SQL Server Database.
See Registration & PC Audit Keys or Comparing Mouse Tracks Editions for more information.
Microsoft Access Database Connection Settings
No changes should be necessary here. Mouse Tracks prefers the use of the Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 provider. It is not recommended that you change this driver.
Custom Connection String Option - If you use a custom connection string to provide other options for the connection, the base Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 provider should still be be used.
Click Finish to connect to Mouse Tracks.
