Mouse Tracks 2009 Active Directory Synchronization
In November ( see article) I highlighted
some of the new features that will be included in Mouse Tracks 2009 (expected
release date Feb 23rd). Since then many more features have been added. The
most prominent and time saving feature that has been implemented is an Active
Directory Synchronization module. Below is a screenshot of the module...
No longer will you need to repeat the tedious task of adding a user to Mouse
Tracks when you add a user to your domain. Simply run the synchronization
module and the program will make sure all of your AD users are valid user
accounts within Mouse Tracks.
In addition to importing the users, other information is also synchronized with
the account. First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, Pager Number, Cellular
Number, Department and Notes are all pulled into the Mouse Tracks database when
you run the synchronization.
Mouse Tracks Web AD Authentication Option
The new version of Mouse Tracks Web will have an option to allow your end-users
and technicians to login to the Help Desk Interface using their Active Directory
User ID's and passwords. Combined with the Active Directory Synchronization
feature the administrative overhead of your Mouse Tracks database will be
greatly reduced.
2009 Pricing Changes
You'll be happy to hear that new license pricing and maintenance pricing will
not increase in 2009. We are making small changes to our upgrade pricing to
keep the maintenance plan the most cost effective method for staying current
with Mouse Tracks. One year of maintenance will still be included with all new
license and upgrade purchases.
If your maintenance is expired or you're considering upgrading you can save a
little money by upgrading or getting your maintenance current before these
changes go into effect on February 9th.
